Geocoding: Address to GPS Coordinates

Convert a postal address or place name into GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude) using the free and open-source Nominatim geocoding API (OpenStreetMap).

Example:

How it works

Geocoding turns an address or a text description of a place into usable GPS coordinates. This tool queries Nominatim, the free, open-source geocoding service of the OpenStreetMap project, in compliance with its usage policy.

Does this tool send my data to a server?

Yes, unlike most tools on this site: the address you enter is sent directly from your browser to the public Nominatim API (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) to run the search. No API key is required and no data passes through this site's servers, but your request is received by this third-party service, in accordance with its OpenStreetMap terms of use.
