Extract an Audio Channel (Left/Right)
Split a stereo WAV file into two separate mono files—one for the left channel and one for the right channel. Only works with 16-bit PCM stereo WAV files.
How it works
Some stereo recordings place different elements on each channel—an interview with one speaker on the left channel and another on the right, or an isolated instrumental track on one side for karaoke. This tool separates the two channels of a stereo WAV file and produces two independent mono files: one containing only the left channel, the other only the right channel.
What if my file is already mono?
The tool refuses to process it and shows an error, because there's only one channel to separate: left/right extraction only makes sense on a stereo file (2 channels).
Can I recombine the two extracted channels to recreate the original stereo file?
Not directly with this tool (which focuses on extraction), but typical audio editing software can reassemble two mono files into a two-track stereo file.
100% local processing: extraction happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly—your audio is never sent to a server.
