Generate Audio Silence

Generate a silent WAV file with the duration, sample rate, and channel count you want.

Example:
1000 ms = 1 second
44100 (CD) or 48000 (video) are the most common
1 = mono, 2 = stereo

How It Works

Need to insert a precise pause between two tracks in an edit, fill an empty space at the start of a recording to allow time to begin a take, or simply generate a test file for an audio pipeline? This tool produces a completely silent WAV file (all zero samples) with exactly the duration, sample rate, and channel count you request.

Is the generated file truly completely silent?

Yes, every sample is exactly zero: there is no background noise, hiss, or digital artifact, unlike a recording of a 'quiet' environment, which always contains a slight residual noise.

Which channel count should I choose?

Use 1 channel (mono) or 2 channels (stereo) for the vast majority of standard audio editing uses. A higher channel count (up to 8) can be useful for specific multichannel audio formats (5.1, 7.1, etc.).

100% local processing: the generation is done entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — no data is sent to a server.
