Tone Generator (Sine Wave)
Generate a WAV file containing a pure sine wave: choose the frequency (Hz), duration, sample rate, and amplitude.
How It Works
Need a test beep to calibrate audio equipment, a reference to tune an instrument (like the famous A at 440 Hz), or a test signal to verify that an audio chain works correctly? This tool generates a pure sine wave at the exact frequency you choose, encoded in a ready-to-use mono WAV file.
Why is 440 Hz offered by default?
440 Hz corresponds to the note A (A4) in standard Western tuning, the most widely used reference for tuning musical instruments. You can of course enter any other audible frequency, typically between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz.
What does the amplitude represent?
Amplitude controls the volume of the generated tone, on a scale from 0.0 (silence) to 1.0 (maximum volume without clipping). A value around 0.5 offers a good compromise for most test uses.
100% local processing: the generation is done entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — no data is sent to a server.
