Audio Waveform Image Generator (SVG/PNG)

Generate a waveform image from a WAV file, in vector SVG format or bitmap PNG, at the dimensions of your choice. Great for illustrating a podcast, a song, or a sound clip on cover art or a web page.

How It Works

The tool analyzes the audio samples in your WAV file and draws one bar per time segment, whose height reflects the audio amplitude at that moment — the classic visual representation used by audio players and podcast platforms. The result is first generated as SVG, then converted to PNG if you choose that format.

What is the difference between SVG and PNG here?

SVG is a vector format: it stays sharp at any display size and can be easily recolored or animated with CSS. PNG is a bitmap image fixed at the chosen dimensions, simpler to use directly in a tool that doesn't accept SVG (some video editors or social networks, for example).

Why is only WAV accepted as input?

Generating a waveform requires analyzing the raw audio samples, which the WAV format exposes directly. For an MP3 file, first decode it to WAV with our universal audio converter, then use the result here.

100% local processing: audio analysis and image generation are done entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your file is never sent to a server.
