B2B Payment Terms and Penalties Calculator
Calculate the due date of an invoice between businesses, the number of days late, late payment penalties, and the flat-rate recovery fee (€40). The calculation is performed entirely in your browser.
How it works
This tool calculates the due date of an invoice (issue date + agreed payment term), compares it to the actual or expected payment date, and, in case of lateness, calculates the late penalties pro-rata to the number of days and adds the flat-rate recovery fee.
How are late payment penalties calculated?
Penalties are calculated using the formula: invoice amount × annual rate × (days late / 365). In France, between businesses, the rate applicable in the absence of a contractual clause is 3 times the legal interest rate; if a contractual rate is stipulated, it cannot be lower than 3 times the legal rate. A flat-rate recovery fee of €40 is added automatically from the first day of late payment, without any supporting evidence, in accordance with the French Commercial Code.
What is the maximum allowed payment period between businesses?
Except for sector-specific derogations, French law (LME law) caps the agreed payment period between businesses at 60 days from the invoice date, or 45 days end of month if this option is chosen and stipulated. This tool alerts you if the entered term exceeds this legal limit.

The calculation is performed entirely in your browser: the amounts and dates you enter are never sent to a server.
