Canonical Tag Generator
Enter your page's reference URL to generate the <link rel="canonical"> tag to paste into the <head>.
How it works
The same page is often accessible via several different URLs: with or without www, over HTTP or HTTPS, with tracking parameters added by a marketing campaign (?utm_source=...), or via a sort/filter URL on a category page. For a search engine, these are all separate pages duplicating the same content. The canonical tag explicitly indicates which URL is the "official" version to index, even if the page is accessed via another variant.
What happens if I don't add a canonical tag?
Google will choose on its own, based on its own heuristics, which URL among the duplicate variants it considers canonical — a choice that may not match what you wanted, and that can dilute the page's authority across multiple URLs.
Where should I place this tag?
Paste it into the <head> section of every variant of the page (including the canonical page itself, which must point to its own URL). On most frameworks (Nuxt, Next.js, etc.), a dedicated head-management component accepts this same type of link tag.
Privacy: generation happens entirely in your browser — the URL entered is never sent to a server.
