Canonical URL Checker

Compare a page's actual URL with its declared canonical URL to spot any inconsistency in scheme, domain, or path.

Example:

How it works

A canonical tag that doesn't exactly match the page's actual URL (for example due to http vs https, or a missing trailing slash) can send contradictory signals to search engines and affect indexing. Enter the page URL and its declared canonical URL to check that they point to the same resource.

Why is a scheme difference (http vs https) a problem?

If a page on https declares an http canonical URL, Google may interpret this as a preference for the non-secure version, which goes against current SEO best practices. The two URLs should use the same scheme.

Does the trailing slash count in the comparison?

The tool ignores an isolated trailing slash (/page and /page/ are considered identical) because many servers treat them as equivalent. Any other path difference, however, is flagged.

100% local processing: the comparison runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your URLs never leave your device.
