Car Lease Calculator

Estimate the monthly payment on a lease contract (lease-purchase with option to buy, or long-term rental) based on the vehicle price, its residual value at the end of the contract, your down payment, and the applicable interest rate. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — your data is never sent to a server.

Example:

How it works

Unlike a regular loan, a lease (lease-purchase or long-term rental) only finances the difference between the vehicle's price and its estimated residual value at the end of the contract — in other words, the depreciation. Finance charges calculated on the total capital involved, including the residual value, are added to that.

Why is a lease payment often lower than a regular car loan?

Because you are only repaying the vehicle's depreciation over the contract term, not its full price. The residual value remains 'financed' but is not included in your monthly payments: it corresponds to the amount you would pay if you decided to buy the vehicle at the end of the contract.

Does this estimate exactly match my dealer's offer?

No, it's an approximation based on the standard lease formula (depreciation + finance charges). Real offers often include documentation fees, maintenance or insurance options, and residual value schedules specific to each leasing company, which can change the final monthly payment.
