Case converter (uppercase, lowercase, camelCase…)
Convert text between different case conventions: UPPERCASE, lowercase, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, and kebab-case. 100% local processing in your browser (WebAssembly).
Two common uses for the case converter
On the development side, this tool is used to quickly rename variables or keys between different naming conventions: turning an identifier written in snake_case (common in Python or databases) into camelCase (common in JavaScript) or PascalCase (class names), without retyping everything by hand. On the writing side, it's used to fix a very common case: text accidentally typed in ALL CAPS (Caps Lock left on) that needs to be turned back into lowercase or normal sentence case before sending it back.
What's the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
Both conventions join words together without spaces, capitalizing the first letter of each word. The only difference is in the very first word: in camelCase it starts with a lowercase letter (myVariable), in PascalCase it starts with an uppercase letter (MyClass). In JavaScript or TypeScript, camelCase is generally used for variables and functions, and PascalCase for classes and components.
How do I fix a text typed entirely in uppercase?
Paste the text in question into the field above, choose "lowercase" as the target case, then convert. The result turns the whole text back to lowercase; it doesn't automatically restore capital letters at the start of sentences or proper nouns, which you'll need to fix manually if needed.
