Cash Flow Forecast Generator
Project your cash flow month by month from a starting balance, recurring cash inflows and outflows, with an optional growth rate for each. Instantly spot the month where cash is lowest or would go negative.
How it works
This tool starts from your current cash balance and adds the net flow (inflows minus outflows) month after month to project the cumulative balance over the chosen period. If you enter a growth rate, inflows and/or outflows automatically change from one month to the next starting in month two.
Why is the lowest balance important?
A business can be profitable over the year while running short of cash at a specific moment — for example, if outflows (salaries, suppliers) fall due before inflows (clients) arrive. Identifying the month with the lowest balance helps you anticipate a short-term financing need (line of credit, authorized overdraft) before the problem occurs.
How do I use the monthly growth rate?
If you expect a gradual increase or decrease in activity, enter a monthly growth percentage for inflows and/or outflows (for example, 1% if you expect modest revenue growth). Leave these fields at 0 for a steady-amount forecast — the simplest and most conservative.
This forecast is a simplified estimate based on constant amounts and growth rates that you enter; it is no substitute for the advice of an accountant or financial advisor for the actual management of your cash flow.
The calculation runs entirely in your browser: none of the data you enter is sent to a server.
