APA Citation Generator
Fill in the fields matching your source (book, article, or website) to automatically generate a bibliographic reference formatted in APA 7 style, ready to insert into your bibliography.
How it works
APA (American Psychological Association), 7th edition, requires a specific order for each source type: author, year in parentheses, title, then medium-specific information (publisher for a book, journal and page range for an article, site and URL for a web page). This generator automatically assembles these elements in the correct order and with the expected punctuation.
How do I format the author's name?
APA expects "Last name, Initial(s) of first name." — e.g., "Hugo, V." for Victor Hugo. For multiple authors, separate them with commas and use "&" before the last author (e.g., "Dupont, A., & Martin, B.").
What if my article doesn't have a DOI?
The URL/DOI field is optional: if your article has no DOI, you can either leave the field blank or provide the URL of the page where you accessed the article, if it is freely available.
All information you enter stays in your browser: no bibliographic data is sent to a server.
