Compare 2 PDFs
Compare the text of two PDF documents and view the lines added, removed, or unchanged between the two versions.
Compare two versions of a contract or document
This tool is designed for real-world cases where two nearly identical PDFs are circulating and you need to quickly spot what changed: a new version of a contract sent back by the other party after negotiation, an amendment to compare with the original, or two successive versions of a thesis, report, or dissertation reviewed on different dates. Instead of reading both documents line by line, you get straight to the list of sentences added, removed, or unchanged.
Does this tool detect layout changes or only text changes?
Only text. The comparison extracts the textual content of each PDF and then compares these two texts line by line; it does not take formatting into account (font, color, position on the page, images). A purely visual change with no text modification will therefore not be flagged — only a change in words, figures, or clauses appears in the result.
What file size is accepted?
Each PDF is limited to 30 MB, which covers the vast majority of contracts, reports, and theses. For larger documents, try comparing only the relevant pages by extracting a page range beforehand.
100% local processing: text extraction and comparison happen entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, your two files are never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
