How it works
This page is the handy stop when you know you want to change an image's format but haven't decided which one yet: import one or more images, select the output format (PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, or GIF) from the list, then run the batch conversion. Each file is processed independently and a download link appears for each one, even if one of the files fails.
Which image format should I choose for the web?
For a website, favor WebP or JPEG: they compress photos heavily while remaining visually satisfying, which speeds up page loading. PNG remains preferable for logos, screenshots, or images with transparency, where edge sharpness matters more than file weight.
What's the difference between PNG and JPEG?
PNG uses lossless compression: the image stays identical to the original, which makes it ideal for text, icons, or flat color areas, but the file is larger. JPEG compresses with loss (the image loses a bit of detail) and works very well for photographs, where the eye doesn't notice the difference for a significant size reduction.
If you're looking for a more specific need (resizing, cropping, removing a background…), check out the other image tools on the site: each handles a particular case in more detail.
100% local processing: your images are converted directly in your browser via WebAssembly and are never sent to a server.
