Format CSS

Downloaded a minified stylesheet (all on one line) or copied CSS generated by an online tool? Paste it here to get a readable version, one declaration per line. Basic formatter (indentation by block): it doesn't reorganize properties, validate syntax, or merge duplicate rules.

Example:

How it works

Paste your minified or compact CSS and click "Format": the tool places the opening brace at the end of the selector line, puts each declaration (property: value) on its own line, indents 2 spaces per level (nested rules like @media are handled), and puts the closing brace on its own line.

Why do my CSS comments appear oddly placed?

The tool preserves the content of <code>/* ... */</code> comments but doesn't intelligently reposition them relative to the surrounding declarations: they stay attached wherever they appeared in the original source code.

Does formatting change how my CSS behaves?

No. Only the presentation of the code (whitespace, line breaks, indentation) is modified. Selectors, properties, and values remain strictly identical.

Formatting runs 100% locally in your browser via WebAssembly: your CSS code is never sent to a server.
