Group and aggregate a CSV (group by)
Group the rows of a CSV by one or more columns, then calculate a sum, average, count, minimum, or maximum on other columns.
How it works
This is the equivalent of a SQL “GROUP BY” or a simplified pivot table: paste or import your CSV, specify the column(s) that define each group (for example “product” or “product, region”), and add one or more aggregations (sum, average, count, minimum, maximum) on other numeric columns. The result displays one row per unique group, ready to download as CSV.
What happens if an aggregated cell is not a number?
For the sum, average, minimum, and maximum functions, cells that cannot be converted to a number are ignored in the calculation. The “count” function, on the other hand, works on any type of value, including text.
Can I group by several columns at once?
Yes, separate the column names with a comma in the grouping field (for example “product, region”): a group will be created for each unique combination of values found in those columns.
100% local processing: grouping and calculations are done directly in your browser; your CSV file is never sent to a server.
