Statistics for a CSV column
Paste or upload a CSV file, enter the name of a column: the tool automatically computes min/max/average/sum if the values are numeric, or the number of distinct values and the most frequent ones otherwise. 100% local processing in your browser (WebAssembly) — nothing is sent to a server.
How it works
Useful for getting a quick sense of a data column (prices, ages, satisfaction scores) without having to open Excel or a Python notebook. Paste or upload your CSV file, enter the exact name of the column to analyze (as it appears in the header) and click "Compute statistics": you immediately get a readable summary of that column.
How does the tool know whether a column is numeric or not?
It checks whether all the non-empty values in the column can be interpreted as numbers. If so (prices, ages, quantities...), you get the min, max, sum, and average. Otherwise (names, cities, categories...), the tool automatically switches to a categorical summary: the number of distinct values and the top 5 most frequent values with their occurrence counts.
What happens if the column contains empty cells?
Empty cells are simply ignored in the calculation: they count neither as a numeric value of 0 nor as a full-fledged categorical value. The displayed number of values therefore only reflects cells that are actually filled in.
100% local processing: the calculation runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your data never leaves your computer.
