Convert CSV to XML

Turn a CSV file into a structured XML document: column headers become tag names, and each row becomes an element. Quotes and commas within values are handled.

Example:

How it works

Some downstream systems (legacy imports, B2B integrations, SOAP feeds) still require XML even though the source data is available as CSV. Paste your CSV, customize the root tag and the repeated row tag names if needed, then click "Convert to XML".

How are invalid column names for an XML tag handled?

An XML tag name must start with a letter or underscore and can only contain letters, digits, periods, hyphens, and underscores. Column headers that don't follow these rules (spaces, special characters, starting with a digit) are automatically cleaned: forbidden characters are replaced with _, and a col_ prefix is added if the name starts with a digit.

Do special characters in values cause problems?

No, characters with special meaning in XML (&, <, >, quotes) are automatically escaped as XML entities inside the tag content, producing a consistently valid document.

100% local processing: the conversion runs entirely in your browser — your CSV file never leaves your device.
