Transpose a CSV (rows/columns)
Swap the rows and columns of a CSV: the first column becomes the first row, and so on.
How it works
Useful when a data export arrives with categories in columns rather than rows (or vice versa), and your analysis tool expects the opposite orientation. Paste or import the CSV, click "Transpose": each column becomes a row and each row becomes a column.
What happens if rows don't all have the same number of columns?
Rows shorter than the longest are padded with empty cells before transposition, so the result remains a coherent rectangular grid.
Is the header row treated differently?
No: all rows, including the first (usually the header), are treated as data and transposed in the same way. After transposition, your former header becomes the first column of the result.
Transposition runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly; your data never leaves your device.
