Discord Emoji Resizer
Import an image and get it resized to the maximum dimensions accepted by Discord for a custom emoji (128x128 pixels), with file size verification. The processing happens entirely in your browser; your image is never sent to a server.
How it works
Discord rejects any custom emoji larger than 256 KB or with unsuitable dimensions, which often blocks importing an image downloaded as-is from the internet. This tool resizes your image to fit within a maximum 128x128 square (while keeping its proportions), exports it as PNG, and automatically checks whether the file size stays within Discord's limit.
What if the file is still over 256 KB after resizing?
This happens with very detailed or noisy images that don't compress well even at small sizes. Try starting from a simpler image (fewer details, solid background), or reduce the dimensions further before importing into Discord; simple, high-contrast emoji shapes almost always stay under the limit.
Why don't animated GIFs work?
This tool relies on the browser's Canvas element, which can only draw one static image at a time: it can only capture the first frame of an animated GIF, not all its frames. For an animated emoji, a dedicated tool that processes the GIF frame by frame is needed.
No image ever leaves your device: resizing is calculated directly in your browser using the Canvas API.
