Discord Text Formatter

Format a Discord message (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, spoiler, code) by selecting text and clicking the toolbar buttons, with a simplified visual preview. Everything happens in your browser; your message is never sent to a server.

Toolbar:
Select a portion of text before clicking a button to wrap it in the corresponding syntax. Without a selection, an example text is inserted at the cursor position.
Preview (simplified rendering; click a spoiler to reveal it)
Tapez ou collez votre texte ici, puis sélectionnez une partie avant de cliquer sur un bouton de mise en forme.

How it works

Discord uses Markdown-like syntax to format messages: two asterisks for bold, one asterisk for italics, two underscores for underline, two tildes for strikethrough, two vertical bars for a click-to-reveal spoiler, and backticks for code. This tool automatically applies that syntax around the text you select, and shows a rough preview of what your message will look like once posted on Discord.

Is the preview identical to Discord's actual rendering?

No, it's a simplified simulation: it faithfully reproduces bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code, and the click-to-reveal spoiler behavior, but it doesn't include custom emojis, mentions, or theme-specific colors from Discord. The copied plain text, however, is exactly what Discord will interpret.

Can I combine multiple formatting styles on the same text?

Yes, for example you can make a word both bold and italic by applying both buttons successively to the same selection: the syntax nests naturally, like ***text*** for bold italic. The preview reflects each combination as you edit.

Your message stays private: formatting and preview are computed entirely locally; nothing is sent to Discord or any server from this tool.
