Discount Price Calculator

Calculate instantly the final price of an item after a discount, or after two successive discounts (for example a sale combined with a promo code), along with the total amount saved. Everything is calculated locally, in your browser.

How it works

During sales or with a promo code stacked on an existing offer, it's not always easy to know what you'll actually pay. This tool applies the first discount to the original price, then, if you enter a second one, applies it to the already discounted price — not to the original price — to reflect how discounts actually accumulate at checkout.

Why don't two discounts of 20% and 10% equal 30% in total?

Because the second discount applies to the already discounted price, not the original price. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount is actually equivalent to a total discount of about 28% (0.8 × 0.9 = 0.72, i.e. 28% savings), not 30%. The 'total effective discount' field displays this real percentage.

How do I calculate a discount backwards, from the final price?

If you know the final price and the discount percentage, and want to find the original price, divide the final price by (1 − discount/100). This tool is designed for the forward direction (original price → final price), the most common one when shopping.

No amount entered here is sent to a server: the calculation runs only in your browser.
