Electricity Cost Calculator

Estimate what each electrical appliance really costs (refrigerator, computer, space heater...) based on its wattage, daily usage time, and your provider's price per kWh. Entirely local calculation — no data is transmitted.

Example:
EDF blue tariff during peak hours ≈ €0.2016/kWh (adjust according to your contract).

How it works

An appliance's electricity consumption depends on its wattage (in watts, often shown on the label or in the manual) and its daily usage time. This tool converts that consumption into kilowatt-hours (kWh), the unit used by electricity suppliers, then multiplies by your price per kWh to estimate the daily, monthly, and annual cost of each appliance.

How do I convert watts to kilowatt-hours?

One kilowatt-hour is the consumption of a 1,000-watt appliance running for one hour. The formula used is therefore: (wattage × hours of use) / 1000. For example, a 150 W appliance running 24/7 consumes 3.6 kWh per day (150 × 24 / 1000).

Where can I find the price per kWh on my electricity contract?

It appears on your electricity bill or in your supplier's customer portal; the rate may differ between peak and off-peak hours if you have that option. Otherwise, the regulated “blue” tariff (base option) is used as a rough default reference in this tool.
