How are emojis detected?
The tool uses the Unicode character ranges officially reserved for emojis (pictographs, symbols, flags, variation selectors, and the separators used for composed emojis like families or couples). It detects the vast majority of common emojis, including combinations made up of multiple characters assembled together.
Are text emoticons like ":)" also removed?
No, this tool only targets true Unicode emoji characters (🙂, 😀, 🎉...) and does not touch emoticons made of standard punctuation characters like ":)" or ";-)", which remain normal letters and symbols and are therefore not affected by the removal.
