Fake data generator
Create a test dataset in JSON format from a field schema.
How it works
When developing or testing an application, it's tempting to use an export of real customer data to populate the database — but this is bad practice under GDPR, even in a test environment. This tool instead generates a fully fictional dataset: define a field schema (name, type: integer, email, name, boolean, date), specify the desired number of rows, and get a realistic dataset with no real personal data at all.
Is this data realistic/valid (e.g. emails)?
The generated values follow the expected format for each type (an email address does have the form user@domain, a date is a valid date, a boolean is true or false), which lets you properly test form validations or database constraints. That said, these are fictional email addresses: don't use them for actual sending.
Can I generate data in CSV format instead of JSON?
No, this tool currently only produces JSON (downloadable as .json or copyable directly). If you need CSV, you can generate the JSON here and then use a CSV/Excel converter on the site to transform it.
Generation happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, with no connection to a server: that's exactly what allows you to create these test datasets with full confidentiality.
