Fake IBAN Generator by Country

Generate a fictitious IBAN whose mod-97 checksum is mathematically valid, handy for testing the validation of a bank entry form. These IBANs are entirely fictional and calculated in your browser: they do not correspond to any real account.

Fictitious IBAN

⚠️ FAKE IBAN — for testing purposes only, never use it for a real transaction or to deceive anyone.

How It Works

An IBAN consists of a two-letter country code, a two-digit check key, and a national account number (BBAN) whose structure varies by country. This tool generates a random BBAN of the correct length for the selected country, then calculates the check key using the mod-97 algorithm defined by ISO 7064 — the same algorithm used by real banks — to produce a structurally valid IBAN.

Does this IBAN correspond to a real bank account?

No, absolutely not. The account number is randomly generated and does not correspond to any real bank or account holder. Only the check key is mathematically consistent with the rest of the number, allowing it to pass the format checks of a form, but no real transfer could ever succeed with this IBAN.

What is a valid fictitious IBAN used for?

Developers and testers need it to check that an IBAN input field correctly validates the format and check key, without having to use a real bank account statement in a demonstration or staging environment.

No data is sent to a server: the random draw and check-key calculation are done entirely in your browser.
