Online 2048 game
Use the keyboard arrows (or the buttons below on mobile) to slide tiles and merge identical values until you reach 2048. All the game logic runs in your browser.
How it works
With each move (up, down, left or right), all tiles slide in that direction; two tiles of the same value that meet merge into a single tile of double value, and a new tile (2 or 4) then appears on an empty cell. The goal is to reach the 2048 tile, but you can keep playing beyond that to beat your best score.
What happens when the grid is full?
The game only ends when the grid is completely full AND no move can trigger a merge anymore (no adjacent identical tiles, horizontally or vertically). As long as a move remains possible, you can keep playing even with an almost-full grid.
Is the best score kept between games?
The best score displayed is only kept while the page remains open in your browser: reloading the page resets this counter, since no game data is stored permanently or sent to a server.
The entire game takes place locally: no move or score is transmitted to a server.
