Average speed calculator for a GPX file

Import a timestamped .gpx file and get the activity's average speed, plus average moving speed (excluding stopped periods).

Example:

How it works

Average speed is simply the total distance divided by the total activity duration, including stops. Average moving speed excludes segments where the instant speed drops below 1 km/h (considered stops), giving a more accurate picture of your actual moving pace.

This calculation requires every point in the GPX track to have a <time> timestamp, which most GPS watches and fitness apps export.

100% local processing: the analysis happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your track is never sent to a server.
