How it works
The grid is drawn in SVG at the actual scale of an A4 sheet (210 × 297 mm), with a spacing between lines corresponding exactly to the size chosen in millimeters. Choose a 5 mm step for a classic notebook grid, 10 mm for a wider grid, or 1 mm for precise graph paper, with thicker lines every 5 or 10 cells to easily gauge distances.
Does printing really respect the dimensions in millimeters?
Yes, the SVG is generated at the standard resolution of 96 pixels per inch and then scaled to A4 format; most browsers print at 100% scale by default, which preserves the actual dimensions. Make sure the "scale" option in your print dialog is set to 100% and not "fit to page".
Can I reuse the SVG file in another software?
Yes, the downloaded SVG file is a standard vector, editable in Illustrator, Inkscape or any SVG-compatible editor, and the PNG version is suitable for direct use in a word processor or a presentation.
The grid is generated and exported entirely in your browser: no data is sent to a server.
