How it works
Hangman is a timeless classic: a word is chosen, only its guessed letters are shown, and each letter you try that isn’t in the word counts as an error. Choose a theme (or enter your own word for a friend to guess), then click the letters of the alphabet to try to reconstruct the word before reaching the maximum number of errors.
How many mistakes are allowed?
You have 7 mistakes before losing the game, roughly matching the classic hangman drawing steps (head, body, two arms, two legs, and the gallows). A letter you’ve already tried stays grayed out to avoid clicking it again by mistake.
Is the “custom word” mode visible to the other player?
The word you type in this mode is displayed in plain text in the input field on your own screen: it’s meant to be used by sharing your screen or turning the device toward the other player when guessing, not to be hidden automatically.
The word to guess and your attempts stay only in your browser’s memory, with no sending to a server.
