Convert Hex to Base64 (and Vice Versa)
Convert a hexadecimal string to Base64, or a Base64 string to hexadecimal—handy when working with fingerprints, keys, or binary data encoded in different formats.
How it works
Hex and Base64 are two common ways to represent binary data as readable text. Hex uses 2 characters per byte (often seen in hash fingerprints or colors), while Base64 is more compact and often used to carry binary data in JSON or URLs.
Why does my Hex → Base64 conversion fail?
The hexadecimal string must contain only characters 0-9 and a-f (or A-F), and an even number of characters, because each byte is represented by exactly two hex characters. A space or an invalid character will cause an error.
Does this tool accept spaces in the hexadecimal string?
Yes, spaces and line breaks are ignored during Hex → Base64 conversion, so you can paste a fingerprint that has separators directly.
100% local processing: the conversion happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly—nothing is sent to a server.
