Hreflang Tag Generator

Generate the <link rel="alternate" hreflang="..."> tags to place in the <head> of your multilingual pages.

Example:
Language codes (fr, en) or language-region codes (fr-CA, en-US), comma-separated.

How it works

When a site offers several language versions of the same page, hreflang tags tell Google which version to show based on the user's language and region, avoiding duplicate content issues between versions. Enter your site's base URL and the list of available languages to instantly generate the block of tags to paste into the <head> of each page.

What is the x-default tag?

The hreflang="x-default" tag tells Google which page to display by default when the user's language or region does not match any specific offered version. It is generated automatically pointing to the base URL.

Should I use language or region codes?

Language codes alone (like fr, en) target all speakers of that language, while language-region codes (like fr-CA, en-US) target a specific country. This tool accepts both formats.
