Strip HTML tags

Remove all HTML tags from a text to keep only the raw text content, with extra spaces cleaned up. 100% local processing in your browser (WebAssembly) — nothing is sent to a server.

Example:

How it works

Handy for extracting the readable text from an HTML email, a copied web page, or a code snippet before reusing it in a plain text document. All sequences that look like tags (<...>) are removed, then multiple spaces, line breaks, and tabs are reduced to a single space.

Is the content of <script> or <style> tags removed?

The tags themselves are removed, but their text content (the JavaScript or CSS code) is not specifically filtered and may therefore appear in the result if it doesn't contain nested tags. For a complete cleanup, manually remove these blocks before processing the text.

Are HTML entities like &amp; decoded?

No, this tool only removes tags; entities like &amp; or &eacute; remain as they are in the result and are not converted into their corresponding character.

100% local processing: cleanup runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, your content never leaves your device.
