Blur an image
Apply an adjustable Gaussian blur to one or more images. 100% local processing in your browser (WebAssembly) — nothing is sent to a server.
How it works
Need to blur a background to highlight a subject, or hide a face or license plate before sharing a photo? Adjust the blur intensity and apply it instantly to your images with a Gaussian blur, a standard image processing technique that smooths out details uniformly.
What does the "sigma" parameter represent?
Sigma controls the standard deviation of the Gaussian blur: the higher it is, the more pronounced and extensive the blur. A low value (1-3) gives a light softening, while a high value (15-30) makes the image almost unrecognizable.
Can the blur be undone afterwards?
No, blurring is a destructive operation that permanently loses image detail. Always keep a copy of the original if you think you might need to revert.
100% local processing: the blur is applied in your browser via our WebAssembly module — your images are never sent to a server.
