Change canvas size without resizing

Enlarge the canvas around your image by adding a solid-color margin on one or more sides, without ever resizing or distorting the original pixels.

How it works

Unlike resizing, which modifies existing pixels, extending the canvas keeps the original image exactly as it is and simply adds extra space around it, filled with a solid color. This is useful for preparing an image for a specific template, or leaving room for text or graphic design elements added later.

What is the difference with a simple frame/border?

A classic frame usually applies the same thickness on all four sides. Here, you can set a different margin for each side (top, right, bottom, left) independently, which lets you, for example, leave a lot of space at the bottom for a caption while keeping the other sides tight.

Is the result always a PNG?

Yes, the result is re-encoded as a PNG to guarantee a faithful background color without compression artifacts, whatever the original format of your image.

100% local processing: the canvas extension is drawn directly in your browser via the Canvas API — your image is never sent to a server.
