Live color picker (eyedropper)

Instantly capture the color of any pixel displayed on screen — an image, a web page, an app — using your browser's native eyedropper, without importing anything.

Your browser doesn't support the native EyeDropper API (mostly available in Chrome and Edge). Use the alternative below instead: import an image and click a pixel.

Drag & drop an image here, or click to browse (25 MB max).

How it works

On browsers that support it (Chrome, Edge and recent Chromium-based browsers), the native EyeDropper API opens a magnifying glass cursor that directly captures the color of any pixel displayed on screen, including outside this page. On browsers that don't support it yet (Firefox, Safari), the tool automatically switches to an alternative: import an image and click a pixel in its preview to get the same result.

Why doesn't the eyedropper work on my browser?

The EyeDropper API is a relatively recent web feature, still unevenly supported across browsers and operating systems. This page automatically detects its availability and shows the image-import alternative if it's absent, with nothing to configure on your end.

Can the eyedropper capture a color outside this tab?

Yes, that's exactly the point of the native API: once activated, it lets you click on any visible element on screen (another window, an image opened elsewhere, a desktop element) — not just this page.

100% local processing: color capture is done directly by your browser or by analyzing the image on your device — nothing is sent to a server.
