Color picker from an image

Import an image and click any pixel in its preview to instantly get its HEX and RGB color code, copyable in one click.

Example:
Drag & drop an image here, or click to browse (25 MB max).

How it works

The imported image is drawn on a hidden canvas in your browser. On each click, the tool converts the click position into real pixel coordinates in the image (taking display scaling into account), then directly reads that pixel's red, green and blue values to display the corresponding HEX and RGB code.

What precision can I expect on a small image displayed large?

The precision always matches the actual pixel of the original image, not its displayed size on screen: on a small, highly enlarged image, several screen pixels correspond to the same source pixel, so zoom in with your browser's zoom if you need to target a specific pixel in a dense area.

Does the result take the clicked pixel's transparency into account?

No, only the red, green and blue values are shown, without the alpha channel. If the clicked pixel is partially transparent, the displayed color is the pixel as stored in the image, without taking into account the background visible through the transparency.

100% local processing: pixel reading is done entirely in your browser — your image is never sent to a server.
