Crop an image to a ratio
Crop your images from the center to a precise ratio (square, video format, classic photo).
How it works
Want to post a square photo on Instagram, or prepare the 16:9 thumbnail of a YouTube video, without opening an editing tool to manually crop pixel-perfect? Import one or more images, choose the desired ratio, then run the crop: the tool automatically determines the largest possible area respecting that ratio, centered on the original image, and cuts it out for you.
How is the crop positioned?
The crop is always centered: the tool computes the largest rectangle respecting the chosen ratio that fits in the source image, then removes an equal amount from each side (top/bottom or left/right depending on the case) to keep the main subject, usually in the center, well framed.
Can I lose important parts of the photo?
Yes, if the subject isn't centered in the original photo: a ratio very different from the source format (for example, cropping a portrait to 16:9) removes a large part of the edges. If the result cuts off an important element, try a ratio closer to your image's original proportions, or crop it manually beforehand.
100% local processing: cropping happens in your browser via our WebAssembly module — your images are never sent to a server.
