How it works

Have you seen this highly contrasted two-color poster style popularized by Spotify and many communication campaigns? The tool calculates the brightness of each pixel, then interpolates between the "shadow" color (for dark pixels) and the "highlight" color (for light pixels) based on that brightness.

How do I choose my two colors well?

For a readable result, favor strong contrast between the two colors: a dark, saturated hue for the shadows, and a light, vivid hue for the highlights. Colors that are too similar produce a flat result.

Is the transparency of the original image preserved?

Yes, the alpha channel (transparency) of each pixel is preserved as-is: only the red, green, and blue components are recalculated from the two chosen colors.

The effect is applied in your browser via our WebAssembly module — your images are never sent to a server.
