Rename photos by EXIF date
Upload a batch of photos and automatically rename them according to their date and time taken, read from the EXIF metadata, then download everything as a ZIP file ready to organize.
How it works
Each photo is analyzed to extract the date and time it was taken, stored in its EXIF metadata (prioritizing the “date taken” field). This date is then formatted according to the chosen pattern to become the new filename, and all photos are collected into a ZIP archive that you can extract directly into your filing folder.
What happens if a photo has no EXIF date?
If no date metadata is found (screenshots, images already stripped of EXIF, some formats like PNG), the original filename is kept as-is in the archive and a message indicates this in the results table.
What happens if two photos have exactly the same date to the second?
The tool automatically detects filename collisions and adds a numeric suffix (-2, -3...) to the affected files to ensure no photo is overwritten in the final archive.
100% local processing: EXIF date reading and ZIP creation happen entirely in your browser — your photos are never sent to a server.
