Highlight an Area of a Screenshot

Draw attention to a specific element in a screenshot by drawing a semi-transparent colored rectangle or ellipse over it, like a digital highlighter.

Drag and drop an image here, or click to browse (max 25 MB).

How it works

Choose a shape, a color, and an opacity level, then draw directly on the image over the spot you want to emphasize: the button, field, or message you want to point out in a tutorial, documentation, or bug report.

Does the highlight hide the content underneath?

No, if the opacity remains moderate (30–60%): the original content stays visible through the color, unlike an opaque mask that completely hides the area. That's precisely the advantage of this tool over a redaction tool.

Can I overlay several highlights in different colors?

Yes, change the color or shape between two drawings: each drawn area keeps the settings that were active at the time it was created, allowing you, for example, to highlight one area in yellow and another in red on the same image.

100% local processing: the highlight is applied directly in your browser, your screenshot is never sent to a server.
