Add a Long Shadow to a Logo

Add a long diagonal gradient shadow, flat design style, to a logo or icon. Works best with a transparent PNG image; otherwise the shadow will also wrap around the image background.

How It Works

The tool first creates a silhouette of your logo (same shape and transparency, but entirely filled with the chosen shadow color), then draws many offset copies of that silhouette along the specified angle, fading progressively toward the end, before overlaying your original logo on top. The result is that continuous diagonal shadow so characteristic of flat design.

Why does my result have a square or rectangular shadow?

If your source image has no transparent background (for example a JPEG with a white or colored background), the tool treats that background as part of the shape and therefore stretches it into the shadow as well. Use a PNG with an alpha channel (a truly transparent background) so that only the logo silhouette casts a shadow.

What angle and length should I choose?

A 45° angle is the flat design classic (shadow at the bottom right). A length of 100 to 150% gives a pronounced, readable effect; beyond 200%, the shadow becomes very stretched and is mainly suited to large compositions or background visuals.

100% local processing: the shadow is generated entirely in your browser via Canvas — your logo is never sent to a server.
