How does this optimizer reduce file size losslessly?

Many PNGs exported by editing or screenshot software aren't compressed optimally. This tool decodes the image and re-encodes it with a more efficient PNG encoder, which often reduces the file size without changing a single pixel of the original image.

Is a size reduction guaranteed for every image?

No, the savings depend on how the original PNG was already compressed: a file that's already well optimized will gain little or no additional savings, while a raw export from poorly optimized software can shrink significantly.

Are transparency and colors preserved?

Yes, since the optimization is strictly lossless, transparency, colors and every pixel of the image remain exactly identical to the original; only the file size may change.
