Add a Polaroid effect to an image
Surround a photo with the white frame typical of Polaroid prints, with a wider bottom strip for a handwritten caption, slight desaturation and a vignette. Adjust the photo's tilt and add a caption.
How it works
The photo is slightly desaturated and darkened at the edges (vignette), then placed in a white frame whose bottom strip is deliberately wider, just like on a real Polaroid print. The whole thing is slightly tilted for a more natural look, like a photo lying on a table, with an optional handwritten caption.
Why is the white strip at the bottom wider than the other edges?
On original Polaroid cameras, this space held the chemicals used to develop the film beneath the image. It became an aesthetic element inseparable from the format, often used to write a date or caption by hand, which this tool lets you recreate digitally.
Can I generate several Polaroids with different tilts?
Yes, just change the tilt setting and run the process again: each export uses the angle chosen at the time of the click, so you can prepare several variants of the same photo for a Polaroid photo wall collage.
The frame, vignette and caption are generated entirely in your browser via canvas: your photo is never sent to a server.
