Redact Text on a Screenshot
Before sharing a screenshot, draw rectangles over sensitive information (address, email, account number...) to blur it with pixelation or completely mask it with an opaque rectangle.
How It Works
Each rectangle drawn with the mouse or finger on the image immediately applies the chosen effect to that area: pixelation averages colors in blocks to make text unreadable while keeping a sense of the content's shape, while masking fully covers the area with an opaque color.
Is pixelation truly irreversible?
Once the image is exported as a flattened PNG, the original pixels in the blurred area are no longer present in the file: the operation genuinely averages colors in blocks, so there is no simple way to restore the original information from the downloaded result, unlike a light Gaussian blur that can sometimes be partially reversed.
What should I choose between blurring and masking for sensitive text?
For truly confidential information (password, card number), prefer opaque masking, which leaves absolutely no visible information. Pixelation suits less critical elements where you simply want to make an area unreadable while keeping a general sense of the layout.
100% local processing: the redaction is applied directly in your browser; your screenshot is never sent to a server.
