Simple skin smoothing
Draw with your finger or mouse over the skin area to smooth on your portrait: a selective blur is applied only to that area, preserving edges (eyes, eyebrows, lips) thanks to local contrast detection.
How it works
First you paint a zone (e.g. the facial complexion) on a transparent layer overlaid on the photo. When you click “Apply”, the tool computes a blurred version of the image and blends it with the original only inside the painted zone — the blend is automatically reduced where local contrast is high (eye contours, nose, lips) to avoid an artificial “over-smooth” look.
Why do the eyes or eyebrows stay sharp even if I paint over them?
The algorithm compares each pixel with its blurred version: if the difference is significant (a sign of a sharp edge such as a pupil or eyebrow), the blend toward blur is strongly reduced in that area, preserving important details even if your brush stroke slightly overlaps them.
Can I repaint several areas with different intensities?
You can paint as many areas as needed before clicking “Apply”; however, the intensity setting applies to all painted areas in a single operation. To use different intensities per area, apply the smoothing once, then start again on new areas with a different setting.
100% local processing: the smoothing is computed entirely in your browser; your photo is neither sent nor stored on any server.
