Remove EXIF/XMP metadata from an image
Remove the metadata (EXIF, GPS location, camera information, XMP) hidden in your images before sharing them online.
How it works
A photo taken with a smartphone often contains, without you knowing it, the exact GPS location where it was taken, the camera model, and the precise date and time. Before publishing a photo online, upload it here: the tool re-decodes it and re-encodes it entirely, which naturally eliminates all EXIF and XMP metadata blocks without touching the visible pixels.
Is the image's visual quality altered?
No, only the invisible metadata is removed. The image's pixels remain identical (aside from possible JPEG recompression, to the same extent as a simple re-export).
Does this also remove embedded copyright information?
Yes, all metadata fields embedded in the file (author, copyright, GPS location, camera model, software used, etc.) are removed since the output file is entirely rebuilt from just the image's pixels.
100% local processing: the cleanup is performed in your browser via our WebAssembly module — your images are never sent to a server, which is essential since this metadata can contain sensitive personal data.
