Vectorize an image (SVG trace)

Turn a photo or logo into a simplified SVG trace based on a brightness threshold: dark areas (or light ones, depending on your settings) become vector shapes.

Example:
Best for logos and high-contrast images. 15 MB max.

How does this simplified vectorization work?

The image is first reduced to a small pixel grid, then each pixel is classified as "dark" or "light" based on the brightness threshold you choose. Adjacent dark pixels on the same row are merged into a single SVG rectangle, producing a rough vector trace of the original image. It is a much simpler approach than a full vectorization algorithm, but good enough for a stylized look or a low-poly preview.

Does this tool replace real vectorization software like Illustrator or Inkscape?

No, this tool produces a simplified outline based on a brightness threshold and a pixel grid, not true edge detection with Bézier curves. For a faithful, smooth vectorization of a complex photo, dedicated software (Illustrator, Inkscape with potrace) remains a better choice.

What kind of image gives the best results?

Logos, icons and high-contrast images (black on white, for example) give the cleanest results. Photos with many shades of gray or gradients produce a more fragmented result; adjust the brightness threshold to fine-tune the output.

100% local processing: pixel analysis and SVG generation happen entirely in your browser, and your image is never sent to a server.
