Format an INI file

Normalize the spacing of an INI configuration file (sections, keys, values, comments) for clearer reading.

Example:

How it works

INI files (used by many applications for their configuration) often mix inconsistent spacing around the “=” sign depending on who edited them. The tool normalizes each “key = value” line with a single space on each side of the equals sign, keeps sections and comments as-is, and removes extra blank lines.

Are comments preserved?

Yes, lines starting with “;” or “#” are kept as-is, without any modification, just like section headers in square brackets such as [server].

What does the tool do with multiple blank lines?

Consecutive blank lines are reduced to a single blank line, keeping the file readable without excessive spacing between sections.

100% local processing: the formatting runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your file is never sent to a server.
