Convert INI to JSON
Convert an .ini configuration file ([section] sections, clé = valeur pairs) into usable JSON. 100% local processing in your browser (WebAssembly).
How it works
The .ini format is still common in older Windows configurations, php.ini files, or settings for many older desktop applications, but it's rarely native to a modern web application. Paste the contents of an INI file to convert it into JSON directly usable in an application, a migration script, or an API: each section becomes a JSON key, and the key/value pairs it contains become a nested object. Lines before the first section (if any) are grouped under a special _root key.
Are comments and value types handled?
Lines starting with ; or # are treated as comments and ignored. However, since INI has no standardized native types, all values (numbers, booleans like true/false) are converted to JSON strings — it's up to your script to reinterpret them if needed according to context.
What happens if a key appears twice in the same section?
The last value encountered wins, as most classic INI readers do (for example PHP's parse_ini_file functions or configparser modules).
100% local processing: the conversion runs entirely in your browser thanks to WebAssembly, and the contents of your configuration file are never sent to a server.
